I am so excited to share some more pictures I took last week while doing my image for the Shot of Inspiration project….Avery had so so much fun doing this, I mean what little girl doesn’t want to dress up as a fairy frolicking in the pink cherry blossoms?! This is why I love photographing children so much, especially at this age, they are so full of imagination. These photos make my heart sing!

Happy Love Day! Avery has been so excited for Valentine’s Day (which she calls “balance-time day”) She is having her first school valentine party today, she wrote her classmates’ names on each envelope and told me she can’t wait to put them in each friends box. Since she has been in the Valentine spirit I thought I would take advantage to do a fun little session on a rare sunny winter day. We made our own hand made donuts, cut out with heart shaped cookie cutters and finished with pink icing and white sprinkles. They are delicious when they are fresh and warm still. I think Avery ate 6 or 7 during our session, she loved every minute of it. Hope you love every minute of your Valentine’s Day too.

Lemon Cupcakes with Berry Glaze

Yesterday we made these yummy cupcakes, just had to share. I’ll admit, the “official” picture on the recipe site does look a little different (better?) but hey, it was getting dark when we finished! I also think my baking powder might be expired as they were not as fluffy as I would have wanted, but still tasted delicious You can find the recipe here and if you try this yourself let me know how yours turn out.

Strawberry Dreams….

Something a little different to look at today A couple of shots taken in my garden. We have quite a few varieties of strawberries this year, I can’t wait for the day I can reach out my back door and pluck a few ripe red berry treats. Yum.

Mr. and Ms. Sock Puppet | Tacoma Child Photographer

Happy Monday! Today was a good day, as Avery would say. We made these super cute sock puppets with some $1 socks (Target) and bits and pieces from my craft stash. Avery picked stuff out and I cut and sewed (we all know she is not allowed to use the scissors anytime soon!) Then she decided they were a boy and girl, so they had to get married. She told me to sing the duh, dun, duh, duhn song (how does she know that wedding song?!) It was nice to get a quick break from the rain to go out side for fresh air. You will notice there are no pictures of her looking at the camera. She has decided at the ripe ol’ age of 3 that she doesn’t like having her picture taken. I am ok with that; I feel like the images of her just playing and the little details speak volumes as to who she is. These are things I really enjoying photographing for everyone. Eye contact is nice, but there is so much more than just that.
