Mom was so excited for this little girl to arrive. She chose me to take her Bonney Lake newborn baby photos when she was in her second trimester, which is always a good idea since I only have limited availability each month. We spoke on the phone about what to expect during her newborn session at my Sumner photography studio. She talked about incorporating nature and the outdoors, as well as girly touches into her session. I was more than happy to oblige! Mom was also so kind to share the story of Elliot’s birth with us below.
I found out I was pregnant a few days before Father’s Day. I quickly ordered a #1 Dad Seahawks t-shirt and had every intention to gift it to John for Father’s Day. Of course, I was overcome with excitement and I was only able to keep the news a secret for a day. We were elated!!!
Aside from a little nausea in the beginning and my regular cravings for fried chicken, pregnancy was an easy transition. With it being so uneventful, I knew a baby girl had to come along with more dramatics. Boy, was I right!
Valentine’s Day morning my water broke. This marked our third visit to the hospital in 4 days, the first of which had an ambulance escort (here’s the theatrics I mentioned). We started Valentine’s morning at 2cm dilated, contracting every 1-2 minutes, and 50% effaced. After nearly 24 hours of labor, Elliot May was born – Wednesday, February 15th at 7:45am. She was 7lbs 14oz of pure bliss and we’ve been in a state of euphoria ever since.
